Hi!  If you're receiving this message it's because you signed an online petition to divest the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan (OTPP) from fossil fuels at the campaigns.gofossilfree.org website.  Recently we've updated this petition and kindly ask you to re-sign the new one at this link: http://campaigns.gofossilfree.org/petitions/otpp-go-fossil-free Getting the OTPP to divest is a large struggle, and we need teacher unions as well as the provincial government (these two groups appoint 4 members each to the fund's board of directors) to be onside.  We need resolutions from within union structures (annual meetings) and as much public pressure as can possibly be brought to bear on the provincial government to support the divestment campaign.  Thank you for your continued support in this crucial struggle! Also, please note that the Ontario provincial government has now released a climate change discussion paper, and is requesting feedback on their climate policy through consultations, both through face-to-face meetings and a web form: https://www.ontario.ca/environment-and-energy/climate-change-consultation#section-1 This is a great way to make your voice heard, and to let the Ontario government know its citizens don't want tar sands pipelines or investments in fossil fuel companies.
