[All] Setting up GREN Committee on Waste Management

At our last GREN meeting, we decided to set up a committee of GREN to put together input, etc for the Region of Waterloo as they finalize their waste management master plan over 2015 and 2016. The plan is for a thirty-year period. Our particular foci will be on: 1) how to maximize waste reduction, reuse, recycling, composting (the Region hasn’t even set a target for these);  2) avoid or minimize the need for increased disposal capacity through another landfill or thermal treatment (incineration) of garbage.

Please e-mail me if you would like to join this GREN committee. We will set up a GREN garbage list-serve, and meet to develop a plan for our work.
