Tuesday April 21 Think Globally Invest LocallyTuesday April 21st at 7pm at the Kitchener Downtown Community Centre
Divest Waterloo is teaming up with Community Renewable Energy Waterloo (CREW) to host Think Globally Invest Locally. This is a great opportunity to learn how to invest in local renewable energy projects.  The evening will include an informal panel discussion with a question period, and dessert! Join others on April 21st to hear directly from two local renewable energy projects about how you can be a part of that change.

Earth Day at Huron Natural Area: 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.The City of Kitchener looking for volunteers to enhance this event by assisting in a variety of different areas; event greeter/information station attendant, parking attendant, tree planting assistant, event photographer and kids’ crafts or activities; for more information contact Josh Shea, Natural Area Coordinator, 519-741-2600, ext. 4177 or email Joshua.shea at kitchener.ca
April 30Water Institute Research Symposium The symposium will include a plenary on Water Security for First Nations in Canada with presentations from Steve Hrudey, Merrell-Ann Phare, and Irving Leblanc. This will be followed by two concurrent breakouts and a poster exhibition. The breakout sessions will include presentations on important water issues in the areas of Cold Regions, The Waterloo Region, Urbanization, and Nanotechnology. The Research Symposium is open to faculty and students of the University of Waterloo or other institutions, and to external organizations or individuals. External Partners of the Water Institute receive symposium registrations as a benefit of membership. Registration fees for others are $25 for students and post-doctoral fellows, $50 for faculty or staff and $250 for others. Fees are inclusive of HST.

Saturday May 2Earth Day Events: City of Waterloo1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Enjoy free family fun at the annual Waterloo Earth Day at Westmount Sportsfields - Environmental Reserve, 440 Westmount Rd (north of Columbia St) in Waterloo. Shuttle bus will be available. Plant trees, see animals, build a bird house, learn about nature and water.  For more info visit here:
