The Waterloo Chronicle has an online poll asking:
Should the Wilmot Line be improved to allow more traffic flows on the west side of the city?

On June 6, 2006, work crews along Wideman Road cut an aquifer resulting in flooding of the area, the installation of over 100 wells and the draining of the area into Clair Creek which may or may not have resulted in fish kills. Let's not repeat past mistakes!
Wilmot Line still floods. There was a flood sign up as of today, May 10th. The area has shallow aquifers and the subdivision had a zero thresh hold to exceed salt limits for the Green brook wells and that is not including the potential impacts of Wilmot line being paved. Greenbrook provides 5% of our water supply.
OMB hearing PL091182 was regarding Wilmot Line because the EA for the roadway was getting to expensive for Activa to pay for due to the delay. As a quick fix, the OMB allowed Wilmot to be paved to the Columbia Road extension and the rest of the road was to remain unpaved. The developer was to pay for all the costs of this. Here is the ruling: http://www.omb.gov.on.ca/e-decisions/pl091182-May-06-2010.pdf
Today there was a long line of traffic with vehicles heading to the Waterloo landfill with delays on both westbound and Eastbound lanes on Erbst. The weekends always have the heaviest traffic for the dump. There were people with garden debris, home renovations, construction and landscape companies etc. We need to assure traffic studies take place during the busy weekend period to get the delta level for traffic flow.
