The purpose of this email is to let you know that the ministry released the final Test Holes and Dewatering Wells – Requirements and Best Management Practices manual on April 7th.  

The manual is currently available at: http://www.ebr.gov.on.ca/ERS-WEB-External/displaynoticecontent.do?noticeId=MTE1ODU0&statusId=MTgyNzM5&language=en

We greatly appreciate the support and assistance that many of you provided while this manual was being developed and sincerely hope that you are pleased with the final document. 

In addition to the manual, a series of 17 Technical Bulletins intended to provide a summary of the information found in the manual for the industry, regulatory agencies and well owners are attached to the bottom of this email for your information.  

Finally, I would also like to advise you of a new notice that has been posted to the environmental registry regarding the Water Supply Wells – Requirements and Best Management Practices, January 2010.  This manual is being revised to correct identified
administrative errors, and incorporate new guidance and best management practices that were created in the Test Holes and Dewatering Wells – Requirements and Best Management Practices Manual and are relevant to water supply wells. The revised version of the
manual is being posted for a 30 day public comment period (closes May 7, 2014). 

You can access and provide comment on the revised manual through the environmental registry at:  http://www.ebr.gov.on.ca/ERS-WEB-External/displaynoticecontent.do?noticeId=MTIxOTIy&statusId=MTgyNzI3&language=en.
To allow for easier public access, the manual on test holes and dewatering wells and the 17 technical bulletins will also be posted to the government's Ontario.ca website in the near future.
