Hidden Valley Update
Notice of Public Consultation Centre re: River Road Extension (Hidden Valley) is scheduled for Tuesday Oct. 1, from 4:30 to 8pm with presentation and Q & A from 7pm to 8pm at Conestoga Place 110 Manitou Dr. Kitchener. A notice was in the KW record but interesting how it has yet to be posted on the Region's website regarding public notices http://www.regionofwaterloo.ca/en/regionalGovernment/publicnotices.asp
Lake Huron Proposed Nuclear Repository Update
A critique of OPG’s evidence supporting the proposal says that the analysis embodied in the environmental impact statement is “not credible,” “not defensible,” and “not reliable.” The critique was commissioned by the review panel itself. Ontario Anti-Slapp update
Over 140 groups, including environmental organizations, unions and freedom of expression advocates, are calling on the Ontario legislature to adopt strong legislation to prevent Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPs) from being used to limit freedom of expression, public participation and prevent the abuse of libel laws.
