Hi folks



Today our local MPP Catherine Fife, a member of the NDP, released an article regarding the need to revise the Ontario Municipal Board. When I clicked the facebook "like" button, it bound the article to Liberal Premier Kathleen Wynn.

Public Relations for MPP's is a critical issue but to bind the article from our elected official from another party really comes off as more than just sloppy work, it's clearly false and misleading. In the attachments are the screen shots of what I saw. The website it was on is here. If you click the facebook "like" button you'll see what I'm talking about. I contacted the office of Catherine Fife to see if they can straighten out this matter.

The KW Record generally is known for their pro-development stance on matters and it's not much of a secret that they do earn revenues promoting new homes. For this paper to in any way try to spin that they don't know what our local MPP looks like would really be off the mark in my view.
In response I've contacted Catherine Fife's office and Andrea Horwath and advised they spread word to other NDP MPP's to double check the facebook like 
features associated with their press releases to see if we're seeing a 
similar trend in social media misinformation in regards to images being 
linked to articles. This may be an honest mistake or it could flag the 
issue of a new way to manipulate social media for election purposes.
