Great comment Lulu but let me be more specific and and explore some new directions. More must to done to protect our recharge areas from destruction by development and contamination of the aquifers by such ways as road salt and engine oil in runoff ponds seeping into the ground (often sandy) like the situation on Fisher Hallman Rd. hear Huron Rd. Also toxic farm chemicals (most) are getting into aquifers that are close to the surface with sandy soil above -- sometimes possibly making some west-side Waterloo drinking water cloudy after prolonged days of rain (I investigated such a situation over 15 years ago). And more needs to be done to capture/filter/(re)use rain water and grey water -- so few are doing this.
