Dear Grenlings,
The new Kitchener CBC morning news show has now found its feet and was doing a good job of discussing local issues and holding good interviews, often on environmental topics such as the controversial OMB issue. Now it's suspended pending a CRTC hearing. If you like the show and feel that the station merits approval, please send the CRTC a note. Follow the directions below.

Dear Greg / Carroll,
I want to alert you to an announcement from CBC indicating that they have stopped transmitting their local morning radio show over the air in the Waterloo Region, allegedly because of CRTC sloth. We are unsure who is responsible for this negligence but both CRTC and CBC are suspects.
Should you wish to follow up on this, the CBC contact is in the news release and the CRTC can be reached at 1-877-249-CRTC (2782) or online here<http://www.crtc.gc.ca/RapidsCCM/Register.asp?lang=E>.
Best regards,
[Ian Morrison]

CBC Radio to take The Morning Edition off the air as it awaits approval of broadcast application
April 23, 2013, Ottawa - CBC Radio has to take its Waterloo Region local morning show, The Morning Edition, off the air -- it will continue to be available to its listeners online at http://www.cbc.ca/kitchener-waterloo/. We anticipate that this will be a temporary solution while we await final approval of our broadcast application from the CRTC.
Listeners in the Waterloo Region will continue to be able to tune in to the 89.1 FM frequency for their favourite CBC Radio programs.
CBC filed its application for the Waterloo Region service with the CRTC in June of 2012, a follow-up clarification was submitted in September 2012 and a reply to interventions was filed in December 2012. Approval has not yet been received.
The CBC apologizes to its loyal listeners in Waterloo Region for this unfortunate oversight, upon learning of the situation we moved quickly to rectify it and we hope to be back on the air soon.
