Subject: Regarding Canada's "National Energy Strategy" 
 

Dear Hon. Ministers. 

Apparently Canada already has a National Energy Strategy according to Joe Oliver.  Oliver states Ottawa isn't giving it that label because "it's problematic in some areas of the country." This information came to me by way of this news release:

I would like to view our so called, "National Energy Strategy" data. Can someone be so kind as to direct me to the link.

It comes as quite a surprise because locally here in Waterloo Region, I've been working for many years with various groups and institutions, gathering data so that when the time comes to proceed with the strategy, we will be prepared to give comment but in light of Mr. Oliver's rather surprising statements, I wonder if that day will ever come. 

Mr. Harper, is there any reason why this particular policy did not go through the normal protocol and procedure of most policies? Can you please explain how and why so many Canadians, including media, were not reasonably informed about the existence or passing of this policy?
