Hi folks

An alarming report from the World Bank has just been released. Here are quick points regarding this:

- World Bank expects climate change temperature increases as high as 4 degree by 2100 even if we lived up to our current climate reduction plans

- Water in northern and eastern Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia including Ganges and the Nile at risk.

- Drought-affected areas would increase from 15.4% of global cropland today, to around 44% by 2100.

- Each “growing degree day” spent at a temp. of 30 degrees decreases yields by 1% under drought-free rain-fed conditions.

- Globalpopulation reaches 9 billion in 2050.

 - The greatest melt extent in the past 225 years has occurred in the last decade.
