LULU you are so devoted and it will come across in your presentation.
Do it with certainty of your affirmations and with clarity and with
patience and with the belief that YOU and others CAN make a difference.
Think of the little ant who diligently drags his treasure home.even if it is
TEN TIMES his own weight. !!!!! You've biten off a big chunk and deserve
to be well rested and in a healthy frame of mind. Try not to lose your
patience with these people .I'll be praying for you that somebody with
influence not only listens to you , but actually HEARS you. Hugs Ginny

Subject: [All] Line 9 Presentation is done. Sneak peak here
Hi folks
I stayed up all night and completed my presentation. I got all of 2 hours
sleep then I woke up and found a lawyer to sign my affidavit.
Forms were all submitted on time thank heavens.
The presentation is in the attachments if your curious.
I've spent over a decade of my life advocating for the Waterloo Moraine,
protection of habitats and water supplies and I find nothing gets a point
across better than issues of money so that's how I crafted the presentation.
It's a tip I got from Oliver Brandis at the Grand River Watershed Forum.
I'm sure folks will raise concern about tar sands impacts etc. but based on
the responses I've observed at the Northern Gateway hearing the NEB
generally disregard those sorts of issues stating it's out of the scope of
this particular study. That's why I crafted my arguments to be extremely
site specific to concerns for our Region.
I've viewed the aerial photos. This pipe crosses both the Grand and Nith
rivers, crossing over wetland areas etc. I'm not certain but it may also
cross sections of the Paris Galt and Oakridges Moraine as well. I've tried
to include ways we can secure better data to make this a proactive rather
than reactive process offering some advice rather than just focusing on
problems.
Realistically, I doubt anything I say or do personally will actually stop a
pipeline. I'm not an expert so my views generally mean diddly squat at these
forums but if by some remote chance, I can at least influence the need to
secure better data or the need to bump up to reasonable insurance coverage
to reflect the actual economic risks, than I'm more than happy to do my
part to help achieve those objectives. The stronger "stop the pipe" sort of
arguments, I'll leave to the bona fide solicitors from Ecojustice, Equiterre
etc. but my arguments lends support to their efforts all the better!
Bit by bit. The hearing starts on Wednesday. I've got up to one hour to
speak. Wish me luck!
Lulu
