Apparently the fracking waste (referred to as "produced fluids" or produced liquids" by the industry) issue is gaining some traction south of the border.

Peter,
You don’t need to come to Albany. Join us online for a virtual lobby day!
We need your help to close a loophole in state law that exempts hazardous fracking waste from rules and regulations for the safe disposal of hazardous waste. The gas industry shouldn’t be allowed to play by different rules than other industries in New York.

Save the Date:
Tuesday, April 3

What:
Speak up for New York's water and communities

Who:

New York State Senators

Where:
Facebook and Twitter

More details to come!

The gas industry shouldn’t be allowed to play by special rules. Requiring drillers to test, track, treat, and properly dispose of any hazardous waste they produce would finally bring the oil and gas industry in line with every other industry in New York. Hazardous waste is hazardous waste, no matter the source. It must be dealt with fairly and properly to avoid harm to our water and communities.
We’ve identified a few key lawmakers who play a critical role in the New York State Legislation. We need to let them know New Yorkers want our water and communities protected from hazardous fracking waste.
Make a note on your calendar today to join us in speaking up for what’s best for our water and our communities! Or join our Facebook event here. Invite your friends to do the same!
Don’t have a Facebook or twitter account? Email us your message anytime between now and April 3, and we’ll post it on your behalf!
Stay tuned for more details!
Thank you for all you do for New York’s water,
The New York Water Rangers
