A New report shows how the re-introduction of wolves has effectively increased the growth of trees and bird populations by naturally controlling the elk populations that feeds upon saplings.

Same rings true for controlling deer populations. Here in Ontario, so many of our wolves have been eradicated by culls that the MNR now feeds birth control to deer. Wolves were eradicated by such culls in Waterloo Region approx.100 years ago when they had a bounty on their scalps. Coyotes quickly filled their place but farmers still push to have them eradicated. It is essential we protect and preserve our coyotes to maintain the health of our forests.
