great concept - roads and car roofs are prime surfaces for solar absorption instead of reflection/deflection , but society would probably want to start with solar inserts dispersed amongst pavement in trial areas before making a complete transition. This concept is especially promising as all roads are connected and go right up to dwellings and buildings where the power is needed, so a sort of solar grid is created.

  This is thinking totally outside the box. Wonder how hard our oil companies and politicians will try to cover this one up?
  No doubt they'll try to bury this one very deep.
  Glass is actually a lot stronger and more durable than existing materials. Not many down-sides.
