This 'alert' notice is hoax. There are numerous *classic* hoax and "urban
legend" terms and catch phrases in this message that give it away.

First, no name is given for the virus . Giving a name would allow a quick
internet search to confirm the existence and characteristics of the alleged
virus.

Secondly, Snopes make no mention of it and neither does CNN or Norton. ,
but the message uses their names to give the message a false sound of
legitimacy.

Also, by falsely claiming that that Snopes, CNN Norton, et al, have already
either made mention of or confirm the existence of this new, unnamed alleged
virus, implies that because they have warned people about it already, that
there is no need for you check those sites yourself!

Further, about Norton too, Norton never sends out notices claiming they are
"gearing up" for a potential new virus. Rather if a new virus is discovered,
they the simply find a solution and and block for it and simply add that
virus to there virus bank.

The final tip-off of a hoax is the fact that the sender claims to have
received the original notice from an *unnamed)* brother -in-law who is
supposedly a - quote "advanced computer programmer"!

Every one of these claims terms and phrase are absolutely classic Hoax
tip-offs.
