Hi folks
I met a lady who is a UN representative who informed me that the announcement with MP Pendergast is anticipated to have wide reaching affects for other communities. Sounds good! I'll update everyone on what happens and I'll take some photos too. This isn't a protest so much as it is a show of support for source water protection.
I've just finished painting a banner which reads:
Gravel + Water = Moraines, Save the Source for our Kids. Under that it says Grand River Environmental Network.
This event came with such short notice but if could get a quick approval for the banner from the executives my heart would be at peace. I never want to use the GREN name without consent from the top. If the banner on the wording is OK let me know.
The deeper I get into this subject, the more I discover that the key to approaching the Highland Quarry and all other water conflicts is to do so in a non adversarial manner. Better to be pro sustainablity, pro source water protection than it is to be anti anything. It is better to speak out of concern for community than against individuals or companies. It makes the road that much smoother.
Bit by bit!
