Climate Change in Waterloo Region: Are We Ready?     What: Information session hosted by WPIRG 
When: Tuesday, August 2 @ 7:00 pm 
Where: Queen Street Commons Cafe, 43 Queen Street South KitchenerClimate change is going to have some pretty serious consequences that will affect the way we live in our home, the Waterloo Region. But if we act now we can adapt to these changes and strengthen our community. Come to WPIRG's adaptation information session and find out how you can be a force for good.

David MacLeod is a senior environmental consultant and the lead adaptation strategist for the city of Toronto. He will be discussing how Toronto is addressing climate change and how the Waterloo Region, its cities and townships can also develop similar adaptation strategies.

Matt Soltys is the producer and host of ‘Healing the Earth’, a Guelph based community broadcasting program which examines the ways in which environmentalism and social justice are intimately linked. Mr. Soltys will be speaking about how climate change is adding pressure to those who are marginalized and why climate change needs to be considered an immediate problem for social service providers.
