Yesterday, MNR Minister Jeffery provided an update on 
the Melancthon Quarry (she also tweeted about it). You can see the update

2,051 objections were submitted by the April 26th 
deadline.
 
A total of 3,735 comments were received via the 
Environmental Registry posting which ended on July 11.
 
110,000 signatures were presented to her from the Avaaz 
petition.
 
Also attached is a letter that was recently sent by 
Melancthon Council to Environment Minister Wilkinson requesting an Environmental 
Assessment for the mega quarry application
