Hi everyone
The folks at the Mega Quarry are prepairing a huge food event on October 16th featuring 70 of Canada's top chefs in a pay what you can event to raise funds to stop the Highland Quarry. Details are below. I'm trying to get intouch with the coordinators to see if they'll need volunteers since my hubby, the girls and I want to pitch in to help. If they are in need of volunteers, I'll update you on that.
I was thinking perhaps if GREN could round up funds to sponsor a bus to go from Kitchener/Waterloo to Honeywood ON it might be nice to give folks without cars a chance to support this event while offsetting our carbon emissions. I'd be willing to donate $40 for that. What say GREN? If funds are short we could network with other groups in the area like the KW Greens, Waterlooians etc. to see if they would be interested in contributing funds towards buses. We've got a few months to plan this out. I think it could be really fun.
Details of this event are below for your reference.
