Hello everyone
West Side Lands update:
The City of Waterloo was trying to break a lease agreement with the Waterloo Golf Academy two years early in order to free up the lands so they could build roads to access the West Side Lands subdivision area. The matter went to court and now the City must pay $22,000 in legal costs to the golf academy and honor the original agreement which lets the golf course stay open until 2017.
Activa and the other developers were planning on building Greyerbiehl this summer, followed by Clair Hills next year and Vista Hills after that but without access to the golf course for the roads that delay is going to seriously cost them. Here is the KW Record's write up about this:

The Protection of Public Participation Act, 2008 was initiated by NDP leader Andrea Horwath. Her motion as presented at Queens Park in 2009 can be viewed here:http://www.hamilton.ca/NR/rdonlyres/AF7712F1-8E27-4176-90C8-250578ACD0A3/0/Jan28Motion71McCarthyBill138.pdf
The bill has already passed the first reading (with overwhelming support!) and the next reading is anticipated to occur early this year. To view Bill 138, The Protection for Public Participation Act, 2008 (current) visit here:http://www.ontla.on.ca/web/bills/bills_detail.do?locale=en&BillID=2133
