[All] Fluoridation Voted Out In Calgary

another issue along the same line is the number of discarded toothbrushes that end up in landfill which is apparently huge, and people really only use the head ie.~20% of the product to clean their teeth. All the plastic used in the handles is wasteful. Replacement brush heads would be better than throwing out the whole thing. Each person goes through 2-3 toothbrushes per year, so you can imagine how many get tossed in the garbage. Its kind of like shaving razors -disposable vs. repaceable blades. Has anyone seen any toothbrushes for sale with replacement heads? Lori

Well Robert that must make you feel good that other communities are working for the health of their residents.
Once again , congrats to you and Deb and Carole and all for your work ,here/.
I've heard that Public Health Dept has done a sort of "knee jerk " reaction in that they'll be spending a bundle on Tooth brushes and (Floridated ??????) toothpaste as a reponse to the elimination of FL in water here. ...sounds pricey...don't have details has anyone got more details.? Will it only be for children whose parents are having a difficult time financially.....or right across the board.?? I have no confirmation of this rumour. Ginny

I am pleased to inform you that today Calgary, Alberta Council voted 9 to 3 to discontinue their municipal water fluoridation program. A victory for public and environmental health.
