Dear Grenlings,

Those of you who are concerned about the exclusion of Elizabeth May from the televised leaders' debate by the "Consortium of Broadcasters" may be interested in the statement on the link below.  I wrote the CBC and  CTV after the announcement excluding May, and yesterday received this message from the Ombudsman of the CBC.  I found it unusually thoughtful and forceful, and I think  quite correctly shows that both the corporate mentality of the big media as well as the decline in journalistic principles and standards among journalists themselves are responsible for such occurrences.  Make sure you read beyond the first few paragraphs which describe a 2006 ruling by the Ombudsman (it went against inclusion) and see how different this one is.
