Louisette,
We need Paris/Galt Moraine protection as well. W*_e need all of these
moraines protected. _*
A failure of one will affect the water demands in the neighbouring
watersheds.
As a rep for Council of Canadians in our area, I cannot take part in
supporting individual candidates and parties. But
we do focus on the issues and our MP Frank Valeriote has been incredibly
supportive of water and food security issues including protection.
Michael needs to know that this is a big issue for our whole Grand River
watershed.
And re CETA. Nothing in the G&M this morning following Harper in Halifax
yesterday promising to "move ahead full throttle" on CETA. This is a
huge threat to
local governance of all water and health issues...and public
utilities... the right to profit for multinationals is dominant. And
environmental or local procurement considerations will not be allowed to
take precedence over the right to profit. Harper wants it signed in
June. He is counting on the ignorance of the masses. Lets raise the
alert on this one.
Norah.
