Susan Dan can you let me know "the rest of the story" ( or the beginning.) I have a few ideas for you to contact at Kit. City Hall plus Region and perhaps the chief of the Kit. Fire Dept. I can get contact info very quickly....but I have to know the exact location of the fire hydrant ...if it's just ONE involved.....how often .....what affect a plus or minus chlorine level has to do with bleeding/ water letting for this LONG 4 days and what amount of water was sloughed off and why.. WHY it's happening . So give me more info on the EXACT happenings and location(s) and I'll make my contacts. Hope this helps I've been thinking of making a contact with one of the folks I think may a great source of info on another matter anyway and this may stimulate a sooner meeting. . Ginny Quinn

  Hi GRENers and Dan,

I just got a call from a woman I've known for many years on Union, who also talked to you Glenn regarding the opening up of the water hydrants near Breightaupt (you spoke of this at last night's GREN meeting).

She was told they open them because not enough water is being used so the chlorine level is too high..and this time it was too low. They ran the water for 4 days this time - the last time was about a year ago or so, but she is horrified by the waste and getting the runaround. She just wants them to fix what's wrong and not waste water like this. Are you going to follow up on this Glen, or is there someone with GREN who has some ideas how to resolve this - or any contacts or experience with the City of Kitchener to find someone who can stop this.

Please get in touch with me directly and I can refer you to Elke. Thanks.
