[All] Sept. 29 GREN Meeting

John, Susan K., & All,

I have to be in Montreal Thur, 30 Sept. for a hectic day of a Hall of  
Fame Luncheon and a team dinner in connection with being a member of  
the McGill Redmen (yes I would have preferred a more culturally- 
sensitive name) football team that won the first-ever Canadian  
Intercollegiate Football Championship in 1960 at U. of Toronto's  
Varsity Stadium against the U. of Alberta's Golden Bears (students  
Peter and Lynne Wolstencroft sat in the stands in horror as McGill  
"massacred" their beloved team!). I will have to leave the GREN  
meeting very early so  that I can stay in Cornwall overnight. If you  
had started the meeting earlier -- such as with previous potlucks --  
this would have been better. I still am considering sending my  
thoughts to GREN instead of attending as I wish to be in reasonable  
shape to talk with my McGill teammates that I haven't seen for 10  
years -- with the exception of former WLU Chancellor John Cleghorn.
