Here's the local events and news.

Election Info: Debates live and on line
There
 are a number of public forms being presented over the next few days 
featuring debates of area mayors and ward reps. For example, the Record 
will host a debate between Ken Seiling and challenger Robert Milligan tonight in the Canadian Room at the Record building 160 King Street East in Kitchener. Many of the debates can be viewed online or in person.  Visit here for

Wednesday Oct. 6th - Waterloo OPP Open House
There
 will be an open house regarding the Waterloo Official Plan taking place
 at Waterloo City Hall from 5-7pm. Public input is welcome.

Thursday Oct. 7th - Fluoridation Forum   
For municipal election, question on 
ballot regarding fluoridation of water; 7 to 8:30 p.m., Waterloo 
Memorial Recreation Complex, room 200, 101 Father David Bauer Dr., 
Waterloo. If you bring $20 you can grab a snazzy t-shirt to help spread the word while supporting the cause. 

Sunday Oct. 10th - 350.org International Day of Climate Change Action
There will be two Climate Change events associated with the international day of Climate Change Action taking place in our area:

1) Explore Waterloo:
 At 2pm Waterloo Square hosted by WPIRG Climate Change Action,  a group 
photo of all participants will be taken and there will be public 
displays and events to explore Waterloo on bus, bike and foot. For more

2) Bike Instead of Drive: 
 If you get on your bike on 10/10/10 - take a photo! Make sure you are

US Federal Climate Change Action Plan
The US White House released a report showing a plan to reduce 28% of 
Green House Gas Emissions by 2020. This will result in energy cost 
savings of 10 Billion Dollars.
