Hi everyone

A CBC poll is asking if the Senates vote against Bill C-311, the Climate Change Accountability Act was an abuse of political
power. So far over 85% of Canadians say yes. Visit this link and have
your say ASAP.

I've spoken with Senators who were at the vote. They honestly had no about this topic coming up, there was no debate. The Tory rep who co-signed the bill wasn't even there. The Tory majority simply voted against it swiftly. It's the first time since 1927 that the Senate dared to turn down a proposal that had already been fully passed by the House of Commons.
This move had strategic timing because now when we return to the upcoming international climate change talks we'll have absolutely nothing to show for our nation's plan to reduce emissions.
Please participate in the CBC poll and if you want to send a message to the Prime Minister he can be reached at http://pm.gc.ca/eng/contact.asp?featureId=10
The Chamber of Commerce helped kill Bill C-311 with heavy lobbying. To read their view you may read this National Post article.http://www.nationalpost.com/Climate+change+bill+must+chamber+commerce/3252723/story.html
The president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce is Perrin Beatty. You might wish to tell him what you think as well. His email is: pbeatty at chamber.ca
