I just started reading Evan Fraser's book, Empires of Food, which I would
highly recommend and can lend out once I write my review for the Record.
Actually, if anyone is interested in borrowing from my growing library of
books that I've reviewed, I can pull together a list of them and circulate
it. Many of them are eco books.

Wed., Nov 10th, 2010 4:30pm - 10:00pm Free admission.

Thornbrough Building , University of Guelph, Lecture Room 1200 (Univ.
Centre bus stop)
This event will present vital possibilities for our economic and
environmental sustainability.
It should be of interest to anyone concerned about our future jobs, food and
water security and energy use.
The presentations are by well known experts with Q&A following each
presentation. There will be a short break in the middle for people to
stretch, eat or browse the books and info.
(The food court in the U of G. will be open.)
4:30pm Welcome and introduction of presenters.

5:30 Evan Fraser - University of Guelph "Empires of Food" and
"the Rise & Fall of Civilizations"
6:15pm Half hour break for Food and Browsing tables

7:30 Mike Nickerson - author "Sustainability -How Can We Achieve
It?"
8:15 Jennifer Sumner - OISE professor "Effects of Growth on a
Community"
9:00 Panel Discussion ( so get your questions ready!)
