Hi Neil,

Hope all is well and you are finding time to enjoy the spring migration. I
am not sure if I have mentioned this to you yet but this summer The City of
Kitchener is conducting a research and monitoring study on the Blanding's
turtle in Kitchener and other wetland sites in Waterloo Region.

As part of our project we are preparing to launch a citizen science
monitoring component to identify the level of road mortality for Blanding's
(and other turtle species) in Waterloo Region. We are beginning to recruit
volunteers for this part of the research project and are hoping that KWFN
members will be interested in participating.

We will be hosting a training session for volunteers on Monday May 17th at
the Huron Natural Area (school portable) at 7pm. If you are interested in
volunteering with our study (approx 1hr/wk - June, July) or have any
questions, please let me know.

Could you please pass this information along to any fellow KWFN members that
you have contact information for? We will also be notifying the membership
on May 31st but would like to begin training soon so that monitors can begin
checking their areas at the beginning of the turtle nesting season.

Thank-you for all your assistance with this and you can direct all inquiries
to my contact information below,
