On the Road to a Green Economy: G20 Speaking Tour

*What:*
 A panel discussion on what a "green economy" would look like, 
how 
we could build one locally, and the government policies that we will 
need
 to make it a reality. The second part of the evening will include 
discussions
 in small groups to further explore these issues.

*Who:* Panelists 
include: Sarah Jane Saska, CYCC (Canadian Youth Climate 
Coalition) 
Youth Speaker; Tony Clarke, Polaris Institute; Ken Bondy, CAW 
(Canadian
 Auto Workers); Mike Morrice, Sustainable Waterloo

*When:* Thursday, 
June 17th at 7:00pm. Tables, speaker's corner and 
other activities 
will start at 6:30pm

*Where:* First United Church, at the corner of 
King St. and William St. 
in Uptown Waterloo

*Why?:* You can learn about how Canada could become a green
 economy leader, interact with the green economy thinkers and have 
an opportunity to share your views! Attendees will leave with 
refreshing ideas and a myriad of possibilities in mind for a 
sustainable
 future.

Before
 the event, *a speaker's corner* will be set-up where community 
members
 will be asked to answer the following question: "Why do you 
want 
Canada to discuss a just transition for a Green Economy at the 
G20?"
 These clips* will be compiled into a short film that will be 
shown
 in Toronto and at future events. There will also be tables set up 
by
 local environmental organizations, an opportunity to view photos from 
climate
 change actions around the world, and other activities (check out 
the
 facebook event for more details).

On the Road to a Green 
Economy: G20 Speaking Tour is a joint 
CYCC-Polaris Institute-CAW 
speaking tour being organized in Southwestern 
Ontario from June 
14th-18th in the lead up to the People's Summit and 
G20 in Toronto. 
Three Green Economy Thinkers ( Sarah Jane Saska, CYCC 
Youth Speaker;
 Tony Clarke, Polaris Institute; Ken Bondy, Canadian Auto 
Workers ) 
are travelling to 4 Southwestern Ontario communities to 
partake in 
evening events along the caravan route to Toronto culminating 
in a 
large scale Green Economy event in Toronto.
