Hi folks
 
This regards Mount Nemo in Burlington where a proposed quarry expansion poses a risk to ground water and surface water features as well asJefferson Salamander habitats. Stantec did the Environmental Impact studies which received strong criticism from Halton Hill's Conservation Authority. This group has fought a long hard battle and are in an excellent position to stop this quarry and now they are seeking public funds for the final stretch, to help them cover the costs of their experts at the OMB. If you would like to help them out details are below. The implications of this case could very well help govern the future fate of similar quarries in our own area so it is a great cause to support.

An urgent appeal from PERL
 

PERL has worked for five years to get our governments to deny an application for a new quarry on Mount Nemo in north Burlington. But now it's crunch time.
 
In October the Ontario Municipal Board will start to hear the application.  We can be your voice at this important hearing – but we need your help.  Your donation will help PERL hire experts - without whom the OMB will not consider our arguments.  As PERL will not be hosting an I Love the Escarpment Too fundraising concert this year we need your donation more than ever.
