Thank you for including me in your email in support of the United
Nation's resolution calling for water to be recognized as a human right.

New Democrats believe that access to clean water is not a privilege but
a necessity for all Canadians and people world-wide. That is why we are
supportive of this UN measure. 

The federal NDP has consistently called on successive federal
governments to develop a robust National Water Policy. Such a policy is
urgently needed to address important water-related issues facing all of
us today. Unfortunately, the Harper Conservative government has helped
to block the United Nations Human Rights Council from recognizing water
as a basic human right.
