[All] Petition to Save Kitchener's Rockway Senior Centre from closure. Council vote March 8th

Sandra....I went to Rockway today for the first time...these folks made me feel like a youngster.  Have you spoken to Carl Zehr re your response to this   (via MACKS) ?  Is there a presentation to be done before March 8th to give council  time to think of the consequences before they vote?  Is there a more detailed report that you have seen?  Are there 900 members or where did I get that figure???  
Have you thought about going on a membership blitz ?? What is it ? $20.00 for an annual membership?   Get a bunch of us younger elders  to sign up and increase the membership ...I'd be happy to sign up for $20.00 and I might be one of the Boomers heading in a different direction than these old seasoned senior elders.   We can't toss them out with the bath water. There were a lot of them hobbling around today as I observed for an hour or so. Have they just become a burden on society?   Dear Friends,

              Please, sign this online petition to save Rockway Centre in downtown Kitchener from closure. 900 plus seniors, many senior seniors, actively take part in ongoing leisure groups, exercise programs, volunteer led support groups for senior life events not to mention receiving services like foot care & hot lunches but most important they are nourished by bonds of long term friendship. 

              They need you now to sign this petition to tell City of Kitchener Council on March 8th 2010, "Save Rockway, Seniors Matter".
