Dear friends,

Today you can take another simple action to save, not pave Markham's farmland.

Councillors Jack Heath and Joe Virgilio have put forth a motion that would support the preservation of farmland and the environment by limiting development in Markham to the current urban boundary and asking the province to reduce growth numbers for Markham.

Before April 20th please call and email Mayor Scarpitti and your councillor to tell them you support this motion to stop urban growth.

A list of phone numbers and email addresses is available here:
http://www.markham.ca/Markham/Departments/Council/

There are two critical meetings this month that will decide Markham's Future.
Please show your support by attending the public meetings where this motion will be discussed:
- Development Services Committee meeting this Tuesday April 20 at 9:00AM at Markham Civic Centre, Council Chambers (101 Town Centre Blvd)
- Council meeting on Tuesday April 27 at 7:00PM at the same location

A note to Unionville Residents (Ward 3):
Your councillor has decided to vote on this issue based on the wishes if his constituents, making a good opportunity to show you support for now urban expansion.  Please fill out this survey today (Friday) to demonstrate your wishes: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/P3NMVRW

Thank you for your ongoing work to preserve Markham, and please forward this email to friends and family members.
