We should also consider what comes out the other end of the alimentary
tract as well =-O .
I suspect that pound for pound live weight, cows produce more gas than
other mammals because of the way they digest (ruminants). If we agree
that ruminants are a major source of methane, then any provincial or
national plan to address these gases, needs to consider other ruminants
like deer and elk in regards to controlling natural and protected
populations in parks etc.
Setting guidelines for the cattle population would be less effective if
the natural population of ruminants is left to grow at will.
