[All] history repeating

Could never understand the term "Political Science" and am not well versed in it. This may be my undoing as it seems everything comes back to politics or through politics to secure the almighty dollar.

I came across this evaluation of the human condition which applies to all of us and more some than others.

We are not content with the life that we have in ourselves and in our own being. We wish to live an imaginary life in the thinking of others. And to this end we endeavour to show ourselves to advantage.

We labour incessantly to embellish and preserve this imaginary being and neglect the true one. And if we possess either tranquillity or generosity or loyalty, we hasten to make it known in order to attach these virtues to this being of the imagination; we detach them from ourselves in order to join them to it; and we would willingly be cowards in order to acquire the reputation for being valorous. A great mark, of the nothingness of our own being, that we are not satisfied with the one without the other and often renounce the one for the other. For he who would not die to preserve his honour would be infamous.

Blaise Pascal 1678

  Greetings

I did not enclose other documents cited since these have been forwarded already and I wished to lessen the memory involved.

Some have you have already written letters in support. My letters are intended to give officials a "heads up" that business cannot continue to be as usual for ministers of the crown or for any others. As you can see, I am not a NIMBY kind of person.

I know and understand that some of you are less political than others or are reticent to write. Be assured that I appreciate very much notes of support as do the other active folk.

Thanks to Lulu for forwarding letters to GREN and allgren.

  Neil
