[All] Climate Day & H1N1

Hi folks!
 
Just a quick reminder of the big Climate Change event happeing on Saturday October 24th. The event will take place at 25 Caroline in front of the Clay and Glass Museum unless there is rain. If it does rain the activities will be relocated to First United Church at the corner of King Street and William. It's nearby.
 
At this time I was going to be the person to lead the marches and I had a speech to present but last night I was diagnosed with H1N1 at Grand River Hospital and the doctor stated I must stay home for at another week until this passes or until I can go 24 hours without a fever. My husband has it earlier and is now in the clear. He was sick for just one week. My two youngest show only mild symptoms but my oldest daughter and I have it pretty bad since we both have asthma. It feels like we have bronchitis and as soon as I stop taking tylonol the fever shoots right up to 103 again. All we can really do is ride it out.
 
I've passed my speech to the organizers so they can have someone read on my behalf. I don't know if there are any GREN members with protest experience or not but if the weather is good enough to do the walk to Peter Braid's office, the group could sure use a march leader to lead the chants and to guide the group to and from the event site to Peter Braid's office. If anyone is interested in being a march leader let me know and I can fill you in on the details.
 
RIM is doing an event across from Peter Braid's office as part of the Q2 festival so we'll stop the chanting when we come near their event to be respectful but when we get a little distance here are the chants folks will do for the day. If your planning to attend, it might be a handy to print out so you can join along. The chants are below.
