Thanks Deb....I spoke to Yvonne and we will both be going to Baden Wed. Oct 7th and will go early, like about 3.30
Neil Taylor called me from Cottage to see if I would go and speak to the 'water issue ' on the South West corner of Kitchener...I assured him I was working on gleaning more info and would go to Baden . Hope Kevin can be there. Ginny

  Hi John:

I thought I'd send the following information from the Region's website to everyone. It is dated, but it may help to understand the next steps that were to follow after the Jun 16/09 decision by Council on the ROP.
  http://www.region.waterloo.on.ca/web/region.nsf/8ef02c0fded0c82a85256e590071a3ce/FD7C53F4682A0E598525760A0063B99B/$file/ROPmemo.pdf?openelement

I presume that most already know that the southwest corner of Kitchener has been removed from the Protected Countryside designated area in the information sent out recently, as compared to Map 7 that was presented to Council for consideration on Jun 16th. The current Map 7 can be found here (takes a while to download all the maps to get to Map 7):

It is very important that we attend the open houses and voice our concerns. From what I have heard, many of the negative comments the Region has received pertain to aggregate extraction or misunderstandings about what can or cannot be done on land after the designation is in place (similar to the ESL residents' concerns). Regional personnel welcome any comments, especially our support for the Protected Countryside, as well as our continued support for the same level of protection for the southwest corner of Kitchener. They strongly suggest that we put our comments in writing at the open houses (the written comments carry considerable weight and will be included in a report to Planning & Works as mentioned in the report above).

There are still two open houses scheduled to be held in Baden on Oct 7th, and in Elmira on Oct 15th as stated in your previous e-mail. I encourage everyone to attend.
