Lulu...We've been away for 3 wks. but am playing 'catchup' since returning....and we're doing a new floor in Kitchen and new dishwasher etc. etc. etc.. We'll get 'er done soon.
I'll be going to Baden Wed. for ROP It is very important that I and others try to stop City of Kit. from making an Urban Reserve by 'crossing ' The Country Side Line in spite of the Region's need to preserve the area at Trussler and Reidel in the South West end of Kitchener ...the Region needs that area which contains TWO....not one but TWO 100% recharge areas for future community wells. The growth is expected to be about 250,000 in the next 25 to 35 years. Can't do it if we have no water to feed them and us current folks....Region is trying hard to do what's best for community and we have to back them. Ginny

        Hi everybody

I've just sent this email to the Region of Halton Hills and City of Burlington in regards to the Nelson Quarry.

Since Stantec did the EIS studies for the quarry expansion I decided to share the minutes of the expert's minutes from the West Side Lands OMB appeal where Stantec staff signed off on the fact that their own studies were insufficient. It's all on public record. It's a good idea to let the municipalities understand the nature of the agencies they're dealing with.

As for the power point, I ripped it right off from David Wellhausers presentations for the West Side Lands and Owen properties. Recycling is a good thing. Feel free to rip it off of me if you need to.

        Talk to ya later!

        Lulu :0)

                Dear Mayors and Council members

My name is Louisette Lanteigne and I recently completed an OMB appeal in the City of Waterloo where my experts met with officials from Stantec and agreed to concessions that identified the studies conducted by Stantec as insufficient.

The original draft plan of subdivision would have introduced housing in the capture zone of a vernal pond feature which the MNR recognized as "potential" Jefferson Salamander habitat. They were also going to put a storm water management pond in Clair Creek, a known fishery. The creek has a loosing recharge. If built as planned it would have introduced enough road salt into the aquifers to potentially close municipal wells according to Professor Emeritus Emil Frind, one of Canada's top Hydrologist. The margin of error to exceed the MOE recommended chloride levels was 0.

In the attachments are the experts minutes from OMB case number PL071044. Please note how many of the studies were clearly identified by all parties as being insufficient. I send this information to you in good faith to mitigate the potential risks associated with other proposals studied by this particular agency,

I have also included a Power Point Presentation specific to issues regarding the Nelson Aggregate proposed expansion, a proposal which Stantec also worked on.

Thank you kindly for your time. If you have any further questions and/or comments please don't hesitate to ask.
