Hi folks.  Today is the second last day in COP 15. Lots happening.

Major deadlock overcome as all countries agree on procedures for continued talks. Rich nations have finally abandoned an attempt to kill off the Kyoto protocol. For details visit here: http://en.cop15.dk/news/view+news?newsid=3041&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

The US is offering big money to cut emissions IF the Chinese agree to international monitoring to assure their compliance to their carbon reduction strategies.

A confidential UN analysis obtained by the Guardian reveals that the emissions cuts offered so far at the Copenhagen summit will lead to global temperatures rising by an average of 3C. A rise of 3C would mean up to 170 million more people suffering severe coastal floods and 550 million more at risk of hunger, according to the 2006 Stern economic review of climate change for the UK government - as well as leaving up to 50% of species facing extinction. For details on this visit here:

The leaked UN document actually states that the estimated temperature rise of 3 degrees “will reduce significantly the probability to stay within a temperature increase of 2 degrees Celsius." (ya think?!)

Steven Harper is letting Jim Prentice do the talking at the summit. Due to delay his speech won't be given in time for 11 o'clock news coverage. Instead of actually attending he's intending to have dinner with the Queen of Denmark. (last time it was donuts, this time he's skipping for dinner.)

QUICK ACTIONS: Three key online petitions to sign.

This one might very well be the largest petition in Canadian History.
