Hello All. Ken Hoyle has an event in Toronto on Jan 21st/10 . Sorry I could not arrange that.
He will pass on any information to the Cambridge Civic League about the meeting when we have the details.

I attended the AGM of Sierra Club Canada last w/e and met an assistant prof, new to U of Waterloo. Long time activist/employee for Sierra Club. May be known to some of you by name. Amelia Clarke. Has experience with water issues in New Brunswick and youth groups.. She is at the Univ in charge of Sustainability. The plan is to connect her with you folks since she is new to Waterloo and does not know the issues.

I also attended the Blue Summit in Ottawa and received lots of wisdom...coast to coast issues of water and privatization of services and pipelines... will get my notes together and pass around some of the highlights next week.

Attended Source Protection yesterday at GRCA. Waterloo vulnerability issues overview... examples used were not North Waterloo or Woolwich... but were Shade's Mill wells and water taking and areas of vulnerability. I met Marguerite Ceschi-Smith, a councillor in Brantford who has a lot of interest in how development is impacting the quality of the water she drinks in Brantford. I plan to have coffee with her. Anyone know her?

Guelph presented also re the Dolime quarry that has breached the aquitard over our aquifer for drinking water. No decision on including 'quarries as risks to water 'in this situation.. will be reviewed at the January meeting.

Norah
