Regional Land Trust
The need for a regional land trust to steward key natural areas for the long term has been recognized for decades and in 2018 the Rare Charitable Research Reserve took on the challenge of leading a new land trust spanning Waterloo Region and Wellington County.
In the years ahead important properties will be secured and land donations will be received that will be protected in perpetuity. GREN has been instrumental in the creation and establishment of the local land trust and a GREN Director will continue to be a formal Steering Committee member for the Land Trust.
